Javad Koushyar

I’m a 4th-year PhD candidate in the CS department at the Texas State University.

My research lies at the intersection of software supply chain, open source software, security, reinforcement learning and agentic AI. I specialize in analyzing the security of emerging threats in software supply chains such as open source software and design efficient defensive models against those threats. By identifying and modeling advanced software supply chain attacks, my goal is to develop practical, high-performance defenses that secure the critical infrastructure of the modern supply chains such as open source software ecosystems, and agentic AI workflows.

I am advised by Professor Mina Guirguis and Professor George Atia.

After hours, I contribute to several open source projects such as Gymnasium and Python.
